WMF 2026 Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Edition in Shanghai

Asia’s Leading Woodworking Machinery Fair Opens with 400+ Exhibitors and Record Scale

Running through September 8, this year’s fair spans 52,000 square meters across Halls 7.1 and 8.1, bringing together more than 400 exhibitors from nine countries and regions. The event expects to welcome over 30,000 professional buyers, including delegations from Indonesia, Belarus, Malaysia, India, Egypt, Russia, Thailand, South Africa, and Vietnam.

A Theme Built Around Manufacturing Balance

Under the theme “The Smart Balance of Manufacturing,” WMF 2026 addresses the pressing challenges facing furniture manufacturers: rising labor costs, shorter delivery cycles, flexible customization demands, and material efficiency. In response, the fair presents integrated solutions spanning the entire production chain, from wood processing and panel manufacturing to edge banding, sanding, coating, and smart factory systems.

WoodTech Atelier Bridges Design and Production

A standout feature of this year’s edition is the second “WoodTech Atelier,” a collaborative showcase linking equipment manufacturers with furniture brands under the theme “Design Sets the Challenge, Technology Provides the Answer”. The initiative demonstrates how design concepts translate into finished products through technologies like five-axis precision machining, seamless edge banding, and AI-powered cutting systems.

Participating furniture brands include LINSY Home, Guan Carpenter Furniture, and Kaomo Home, whose original solid-wood pieces illustrate the synergy between craftsmanship and intelligent manufacturing.

Celebrating Four Decades of Industry Evolution

The fair also recognized 20 companies for their long-standing contributions to the industry, including HOMAG (China), Nanxing Machinery, KDT Machinery, and WEINIG (Yantai). These companies represent the sector’s evolution from traditional machinery toward CNC processing, automation, and digital factory solutions over the past four decades.

As WMF enters its next chapter, the fair continues to serve as a bridge connecting global markets with smart innovation, reinforcing Shanghai’s role as a hub for woodworking and furniture manufacturing technology.
