process Feature
Pre-milling
The gluing layer is uniform with almost no glue line with the PUR glue pot, color change needs no cleaning. One extra laser edge banding unit, features excellent seamless appearance, moisture & heat resistance, less maintenance and no glue fume.
Gluing
Pressing
Double-rail end trimming cuts both panel ends square and flush, without chipping the Rail. 45 degree precision linearguide structure.
End Cutting
Rough Trimming
Daul-motor adaptive tracking follows the panel profile to form a consistent corner radius. Edge quality stays stable even as board sizes change across a batch.
Tracking
Cleaning
Double polishing stations brightens the edge and removes fine tool marks, reinforces gloss for a smoother, higher-quality edge.

How an Automatic Edge Banding Machine Works (8 Steps)
- Pre-milling — mills the panel edge flat for a seamless glue joint.
- Gluing — applies EVA hot-melt glue evenly along the panel edge.
- Edge feeding & pressing — feeds PVC/ABS/veneer tape and presses it onto the glued edge.
- End trimming — cuts the front and rear excess tape flush with the panel.
- Rough & fine trimming — trims top and bottom tape overflow to a smooth radius.
- Corner rounding — rounds the two ends of the edge for safety and appearance.
- Scraping — scrapes the trimmed edge to remove residual glue lines.
- Buffing — polishes the edge to a clean, glossy finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: What is an automatic edge banding machine used for?
- A: It seals the exposed edges of panels (MDF, plywood, particleboard, melamine) with PVC, ABS or veneer tape so the board core is protected from moisture and impact, and the furniture looks clean and finished.
- Q: PUR vs EVA hot-melt glue — which should I choose?
- A: EVA is economical and covers most cabinet and furniture work. EVA hot-melt glue is the cost-effective standard for most furniture and cabinet production; PUR is available on request for high-humidity or heavy-duty use. This model is supplied with EVA as standard.
- Q: What panel and edge-band sizes can it handle?
- A: Typical range: Panel thickness: 9 – 60 mm; Edge band thickness: 0.4 – 3 mm; Feeding speed: 12 – 16 – 20 m/min. See the full specification table on this page for the exact model figures.
- Q: How fast is the production line?
- A: Feeding speed is around 12 – 16 – 20 m/min depending on panel profile and glue type, supporting continuous panel-by-panel output for factories.
- Q: Do you provide installation, training and warranty?
- A: Yes. Leabon provides overseas on-site installation, operator training and a 12-month warranty with spare-parts support, so your line runs reliably from day one.
